LARES TREK YANAHUARA 4 DAYS
The Lares Valley is one of the most picturesque valleys in southern Peru, located in the Andes of the city of Cusco. We can find populations and auquenidos as llamas and alpacas, handicrafts and textiles typical of the area.
Dia 1: Cusco – Lares – Huacahuasi
We start very early in the morning, the transportation will take us to the center of Calca in the middle of the Sacred Valley, and we will begin the hike through a spectacular slope to the valley of Lares. Here we will take a delicious rest in the hot springs of the area and then enjoy lunch, to begin again the hike along the Trapiche River, we arrive to Huacahuasi where we will camp for the night, in this area we can observe the typical houses of the Andes where Quechua communities live.
Dia 2: Huacahuasi – Patacancha
We climb while crossing a landscape with flowers and Andean grass, herds of alpacas and llamas, we reach the pass of Ipsayccasa at an altitude of 4 500 masl. where we observe the snowy Veronica and some snowy peaks in the area, we descend to the lagoon of Ipsaycocha where we see Andean geese, Ibis and other waterfowl in these wetlands. The hike reaches the village of Patacancha which is an Andean community known for its textile techniques that are still preserved. We will camp in this place surrounded by a spectacular landscape.
Dia 3: Patacancha – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
We take transportation to the village of Pallta, where we will see the Inca ruins of Pumamarca. Once in Ollantaytambo we take the train to Aguas Calientes and stay there.
Día 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
After breakfast we will visit Machu Picchu with the guide, who will give us free time to visit the citadel at our leisure or we can visit the Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain from where we can observe Machu Picchu from other perspectives. Both mountains have a walking time of 2 hours approximately, we return to Aguas Calientes in the afternoon to take the train back.
